Dawn Dickson

Dawn is an experienced language professional with a passion for lifelong learning. Her early love for languages led her to a career in translation after university. With experience in translation, education, and learning consultancy, Dawn has thrived in diverse roles. As an international teacher, Dawn has taught in various settings worldwide. This experience has given her valuable insights into both the challenges teachers face and the learning experiences of students. This dual perspective informs her work in learning consultancy, where she effectively relates to the needs of educators and students. Currently based in UAE.

Armada Stroia

Dr. Armada Stroia is a dedicated ELT professional with a Ph.D. in Philology and over 15 years of teaching experience. She actively contributes to the field through action research, teacher training and materials development. Her current research interests span collaborative multimodal composing, digital and emotional literacies, critical media literacy, eco media pedagogy, and the neuroscience of atomic reading habits. She has presented at multiple international conferences and contributed to publications on these topics.

Juldyz Smagulova

Juldyz Smagulova is Professor and Dean of College of Humanities and Education, KIMEP University (Almaty, Kazakhstan). Her research interests include language ideology, language education, and language policy; these strands are held together by a scholarly interest in multilingual contexts where speakers have differential access to linguistic and other resources. She co-edited the Language Change in Central Asia (Mouton de Gruyter, 2016) and co-authored Словарь социолингвистических терминов (Dictionary of Sociolinguistics, 3rd edition, 2020).

Duncan Foord

Duncan Foord is a Coach and Mentor for ELT. He is the Director of Oxford TEFL, Barcelona. He has 35 years' experience in language teaching, teacher training and school leadership and management. He is the author of "From English Teacher to Learner Coach" (with Dan Barber, The Round 2014) The Developing Teacher (Delta Publishing, 2009) and The Language Teachers Survival Handbook with Lindsay Cland field (Its Magazines, 2008). He is lead trainer on the Oxford TEFL Leadership in ELT course.

Christopher Sheen

Christopher Sheen is an educator who has for twenty-eight years engaged all types of learner profiles in the ELT field from all corners of the globe. From 2014 to 2021 he worked as teacher trainer and Professional Development coordinator with Oxford University Press, based in Istanbul, Turkey. He continues to be an active tutor on the Oxford Teachers' Academy. Prior to OUP he was the lead trainer in the corporate sales division of Japan's largest language company and was also a full-time English instructor in the largest university in western Japan. He believes his strongest asset as a trainer is the thousands of hours he has spent working directly with teachers both face to face and online.

Kevin Michael Maher

Nazipa Ayubayeva

Dr. Nazipa Ayubayeva is an associate professor at Narxoz University. She earned her PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education in the UK. She held various positions, including deputy chair for the ‘Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools’ Autonomous Educational Organisation, deputy chair of the ‘Nazarbayev Fund’, senior researcher at the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education, and project manager for the JSC ‘National Analytical Center under the Government and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan’. She has experience working on regional projects for the European Commission, the American Agency on International Development, and the World Trade Institute. In 2025, she was appointed President of the Y. Altynsarin National Academy of Education, where she contributes to the development of national education policy and research. Dr. Ayubayeva’s research interests include secondary and higher education teaching methodologies, ethics and academic integrity in education, collaborative action research in education, and socio-cultural perspectives in research methodology. Currently, she is engaged in collaborative action research in teaching and learning in higher education settings.

Sena Elibal İçuz

Sena Elibal-İçuz is a Senior ELT Coordinator at ETS EMEA. She has degrees in ELL and further credentials in ELT. Sena has over 7 years of experience teaching at university preparatory English programs and academic English programs along with her various academic and administrative duties. She is passionate about teacher professional development and increasing quality in ELT practices.

Kevin Michael Maher

Kevin Maher is a Senior Instructor at the University of Macau. He holds a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Framingham State University in Massachusetts, USA. With experience teaching at universities in South Korea, Japan, and Macau, one of his key research interests is audience involvement to enhance public speaking skills for the L2 Speaker.

Anna Hasper

Anna Hasper is a primary-trained ELT teacher and teacher development specialist based in Dubai. She holds a CELTA, Delta, MA and an MEd in Education. She has worked in education for over 18 years in a wide variety of contexts. She is passionate about teaching and in particular IELTS and Young Learners. Her special research interest are educational psychology, teacher development and enhancing effective learning. Anna delivers a variety of Cambridge accredited teacher training courses around the world (face-to-face and online) and presents regularly at international conferences.

Anel Kulakhmetova

Dr. Anel Kulakhmetova currently serves as the Director of the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Narxoz University in Almaty, where she leads interdisciplinary programs in sociology, social work, psychological counseling, tourism, and environmental studies. She earned her PhD in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and an MA in International Development from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Her research focuses on educational reform, evolving notions of childhood, and social protection in Central Asia. She has contributed to international publications and co-authored evaluations for organizations such as UNICEF. Dr. Kulakhmetova has extensive experience in international development, having worked as a national consultant on child protection and child rights with UNICEF Kazakhstan. She has also taught at institutions including the OSCE Academy in Bishkek and Suleyman Demirel University. At Narxoz University, she is instrumental in integrating critical thinking, academic writing, and interdisciplinary collaboration into the curriculum.
